Why We're Making Changes to This Network Soon

Hey Geeks,

Chris set up this resource several years ago because Chris wanted to create an environment outside of WordPress where we might be able to connect with one another and share ideas.

Years later, Chris has discovered that countless pieces of copyrighted material had been lifted from across the Internet and planted on this site. This has created problems for our entire business model.

Plus, Ning decided to jack up the hosting rates to the point where Chris could…

The Household HTPC (Home Theatre Computer) - Its not as confusing as you think.

Before I start I want you to leave any HTPC based negativity behind, people think the HTPC is a confusing beast, well it doesn't have to be.

What is an HTPC?

Do you have media all over the place, pictures on your laptop, music on your MP3 player/CD's, films on your desktop? Well you can pull all this content together into a single place using an HTPC and have it all viewable on your PC for…

The Google Makeover Story.

You might wonder what i mean by a makeover of a web giant. Certainly it ain't a fashion Company. But the way Google introduced their new Styles and look one after the other is truly overwhelming. It all around a month ago. People were talking about the recently launched Google+ button then. Soon the company made a change in their top-bar. All white and classy in it's design. Although this event was nothing significant but it triggered a reaction so big that it almost engulfed every blogger,…

When Making Music, Hardware Matters

I've been making music for awhile, and until recently, I've never been gifted with great hardware.  My laptop was the cheapest deal money could buy, and my desktop was an off-the-shelf bargain.  Never once have I ever had a 'great' machine.  Because of this, when making music, I've always learned to make the best of what I had.  I didn't see any problem dealing with little nuances like popping noises, long waits while rendering audio, etc.  It was all just minor frustrations that could be…

What Will Apple Do Without Steve Jobs?

We all know it's gonna happen sooner than later. Steve Jobs, a visionary who changed the way that we used our computers, may soon pass away from the cancer that he has been battling for many, many years now. A lot of people are wondering what direction Apple will take when Steve is no longer around to lend his guiding hand to the company. I have no doubts that Tim Cook and Apple's executive team would still be able to keep making quality products, in fact, I'd like to imagine that Steve Jobs…

How important it is to take care of your eyesight and your body when using a computer..

I wanted to create this blog post to let everyone know that it's important to listen to what your parents tell you all the time or what you read on the internet about taking care of your body, specially your eyes, while using the computer.

I have always read about reducing stress created by using a computer for extended use and other things like reading in the dark or having your monitor to close to your eyes. My sister for example would always enter my room and turn on the…

"5 Ways to be Successful at Work"

If you heed these five hints, you'll not only contribute to your job security; you'll also win your boss's admiration and appreciation -- as well as a little loyalty.

A Programmers Journey: Netbooks, Objective C

These past few weeks i have been looking up information about the HP Mini 210.

Today, I went to the nearest store that stocked the HP Mini 210 and had a go on it.

Brilliant netbook.

Im going to buy it in March.

I'm looking forward to buying it, i have a EEE PC 701 2GB and it is pretty unusubile, so the HP Mini 210 will be a perfect replacement.

The main OS i will be using on it is Kubuntu.

My use on KDE is very exsisive.

I could use the custom…

media files or compact discs?

So Apple finally gets to sell Beatles tracks on their Itune store. Then, is this what it will be in future? All new music will be media files? You will need a USB flash device to carry them just so you could play it on your hi-fi set. Whatever happened to the purchasing of the CD and you get to read the booklet within the CD case? Usually you get to enjoy the photographs, lyrics and any other stuff included. Already the effect was felt when I couldn't find cds of my favorite band in local HMV… Continue

aliens are coming

The aliens are coming. These reports were released by SETI, the group of scienctists that do searching for extra extraterrestrial life. So should this news be rejoicing? How much truth is in the report? SETI is a no nonsense group. They had fundings from the US government and NASA. There will be much truth then if the news was reported from some other unknown organisation. The date for arrival is ending 2012, the same date predicted by that Mayan calender. I believes in that unless the whole… Continue
