Opinion of some decently priced laptops (decent enough for Tera and Skyrim?)

I recently (about 6 months ago) got a HP Pavilion g6.
I did not want anything super powerful at all, seeming as I mainly play Tera Rising, and Skyrim (I am fine with it being on low graphics)
However, never have I had such a terrible laptop before. It freezes constantly, overheats within 5 minutes of playing Tera. Generally just not the best, for anything really.

HP has agreed to give me a refund.
I ~was~ going to use that money to build myself a gaming PC; though I realised I really do enjoy the convenience of being able to take my laptop with me, especially since I fly overseas to New Zealand a lot, and take my laptop on the plane.

I am currently considering these two here, Onetwo.
I will only need to pay a slight difference after the refund, but would like people's opinions on these two (keep in mind - like I said, mostly Tera and Skyrim for me, sometimes Morrowind and Don't Starve)

If you know any others that are better suited, and around the $800 mark, feel free to make a suggestion as well!

Thank you~

It's only 3 1/2 years old, i remember you asking us what you at least wanted in a computer. 3 1/2 years old and it would still do the things you'd want it to. Only down side is it no longer has a working battery it's always plugged in and the fan is always running on high but you get used to it, that and some of the screws are missing and it looks and feels its age, otherwise works great.

hence my refusal to get rid of it, but being a tech junky, everytime i go to the store, and see this gorgeous new slim thin Samsung laptop, I WANT IT.

Aww.

As they say, if it's not broke, don't fix it :)

I had a PC from 1995, didn't replace it until it finally conked out on me :P

http://www.asus.com/in-search-of-incredible/us-en/asus-transformer-...

this is a laptop i have had my eye on for sometime.

Not for gaming obviously, but it sells here for 400$ sometimes Less.

Has a Quad-Core Low Watt Intel Atom Chip 2GBS OF DDR3 ram, a 720P screen

a detatcheable keyboard, and it's the size of the netbooks we all miss. Basically a laptop and a Tablet, running Windows 8.1 With a battery life that can last all day, I've been considering it. But i don't think it could replacement my aging 3 1/2 year old Gateway witch has been great to me. However it lacks any battery life what so ever, it's 15.6 inches big, it's large and a bit chunky.

Although bigger screen is better with me (hence my 50 Inch Sony Tv)

i'm so tempted.

Oh I know. I actually avoided alienware for the longest time because I knew they were expensive.
You pretty much pay heaps for the pretty lights.

Though with that said, reason why I bought it is because the guy was selling it very cheap. I looked up other laptops with the same specs and most were $300 - $400 more.
I think I got very lucky with finding such a good deal.

I also admit
I have a thing for backlit.. anything. If it's pretty and shiny, I will probably want it xD
